As some of you may have gleaned from various sources, I have gone back to long haul driving. There's a twist though; I'm team driving with my brother. I thought that I might return to some regular writing as a result of this, but you can blame my brother's 32" widescreen TV and Xbox 360 for that not coming to fruition. I spend most of my non-working/non-sleeping time playing various installments of the Assassin's Creed franchise.

The other big news is that I finally joined the 21st century and got a smart phone. When I stopped working over the road last spring, I canceled the air card service I had through Sprint. When considering my options for mobile internet, I decided to get a sexy Android phone that has a 8-port WiFi router built into it.

Who knows? Maybe I'll write a little more. Maybe I won't. In the meantime, what follows is a list of movies I've watched in the past 18 months. Feel free to open up a discussion on something if the spirit moves ya.

Nice phone! I just recently got a smartphone too, Samsung Captivate (with AT&T). I really like the Android OS. Make sure you get Angry Birds...that game is so fun and addicting. Also, if you want to kill time playing an old-school style RPG, get Zenonia. I just started playing it earlier today and I'm already hooked on it.

Oh, you can ask Erin about how much I like playing Angry Birds.

Did you like children of men?

It definitely was one of the more memorable cinematic experiences I've had in a while. Those two long shots with no cuts, (especially the one in the car!) were mind-blowing.

I just bought it (it's one of the few movies I've seen this year I'd like to own) because I thought it was amazing. :)

also, which htc phone did you get? Once the price for the (new) HTC Desire Z comes down I'm buying it. (I don't know if they have that one in the states? it's the htc desire w/a full keyboard.)

Mine is the HTC Evo. Typing on a virtual keyboard is taking some getting used to.

I have a TMobile Pulse mini. It's a very very cheap android phone. I wasn't sure if I'd like it or not so I bought the cheapest I could find. And I'm in love. Can't wait to have something better! :)

The Evo is one heck of a sweet phone.

I'm assuming you have Android 2.1 on that bad boy? I just upgraded my Motorola Cliq (they had us stuck on Android 1.5 for over a year) and I am really loving the new system. New to me, at least. Not to most people.

they've been upgraded to 2.2 now.

As hockeyfag pointed out, it is 2.2. I really have nothing to compare it to, though. It crashes once in a blue moon, and after about a week it gets really sluggish and I have to reboot it. Other than that, it works just fine.

I love my evo :) you'll love it too

Oh I love it. No doubt about it.

I keep meaning to take a picture of this to show you but I keep forgetting and probably will continue to do so, so I'll explain it.

My brother took a short piece of 4x4 lumber and mounted it to the base of the TV - oriented to the rear of the base and running parallel to the TV screen - so that the metal base juts out as a lip. The 4x4 then slides into the space between the bunk mattress and the wall of the cab at the foot of the bed, with the lip resting on top of the mattress. He sticks a pillow behind it to keep it from slamming against the wall while in motion, and the lip created by the base keeps it from falling forward. If you need access to the storage under the bunk, you just lean the whole thing over and place it back when you're done. It's a pretty ingenious way of doing it. When we split-up here in another month or so, I'll probably invest in something similar and do the same with it.
