where the entires?
i'm ready for my close up mr demille
soopageek
Location: Columbus, Ohio

Well I started on my politics entry, but I was spending way too much time doing a buncha renaming of files and junk for my little blue friend so I really didn't get it done.
Deal!

Anyway, in lieu of that, here's a music survey that I stole from ruxxell who stole it from... who stole it from....

1. Favorite Album Cover Art?
Shew... um, the Dwarves - Blood, Guts, and Pussy album most likely. I also really liked the "original" jacket art for Guns N' Roses' Appetite For Destruction that was eventually relegated to the inner sleeve due to it's graphic nature.

2. What albums(s) do you own in more than one format?
I sold a good deal of my legitimate collection before I hit the road last year.

3. Analog or Digital?
Definitely digital.

5. What albums of your parents did you borrow or steal?
When I was a kid there were these boxes containing quite literally hundreds of records that belonged to my dad and his brothers that were stored away in the attic. A good deal of my music fascination and early education were the result of these records. Hendrix, Stones, Beatles, Sex Pistols, Motown, James Brown, Arthea Franklin.
I would spend hours and entire weekends sifting through these records and listening to them as a kid.

6. Secret guilty pleasure album?
There are no guilty pleasures. Anything you like is valid. People might be surprised that I've owned/enjoyed albums like Debbie Gibson's Out of the Blue, Michale Jackson's Thriller and have a deep affection for The Offspring.

7. Favorite movie soundtrack?
Jesus Christ Superstar. The Deliverance soundtrack is a lot of fun, too.

8. Favorite compilation album?
Probably Guitarrorists put out by No. 6 Records. Mmmm and The Beat Generation by Rhino. For series comps, Amphetamine Reptile's Dope, Guns, and Fucking in the Streets series.

10. Top 3 on your wishlist?
Nerdy Gril - self-titled 10"
Ivan and the Terribles - "Give Her the Axe, Max" 45 single
Dead Moon - Defiance

11. Favorite place to buy music?
people still by music?
at home: CD Central
quick drive: Ear Extacy in Louisville
on the road: Bleeker Street Records, NYC

12. First concert?
Elvis Presley - my mom took me when I was only 4 years old
The first concert I saw as teen was Heart with Autograph in 1985

13. Best concert ever?
man, that is truly hard to say. how about a top 5?
Beastie Boys with Fishbone, and Murphy's Law - 1986
The Sugarcubes with The Primitives - 1990
G Love and Special Sauce - 1994
Nashville Pussy with The Hookers and The Candy Snatchers - 1998
Sleater-Kinney with The White Stripes - 2000

14. Favorite venue?
probably Bernie's in Columbus or Southgate House in Newport, KY

19. You're the DJ at a small party of close friends. What do you play?
a little bit of everything

20. What do you listen to when you are getting
ready to go out on the town?
this would be assuming i have a life

20 1/2. When you first wake up?
Bob and Tom morning show when I can find it, otherwise, whatever I'm into at the second

21. Favorite cover song?
"Bathyspehere" - Cat Power (Smog)
"Wild World" - Me First and the Gimme Gimmes (Cat Stevens)
"Proud Mary" - Ike and Tina Turner (Creedence Clearwater Revival)

you like the green praying mantis thing raping a chick and the red thing with the knife teeth coming to regulate?
i bet you used to jack off to that.

heh, i dunno that i liked it so much as it's an image that has always stayed with me... when i think of album covers... that and the dwarves cover always come to mind... the dwarves cover are two naked chicks covered in blood and a dwarf sodomizing a rabbit...

i guess i'm sick and twisted

nerdy girl as in cecil seaskull? i totally forgot about her. thanks for reminding me.

Yup, Ms. Seaskull... i'm not really a fan of Nerdy Girl, but I love that 10", especially the recording of "Hate Me" that's on it... she re-recorded it for the album, but with big-time production and, quite frankly, it sucks... i have that version, but really want the other one....

out of curiosity, do you run across more Nerdy Girl stuff in canada given her nationality? i've been looking for this for quite sometime and haven't had much luck

yeah, "hate me". i loved that song, but i don't remember it with all the prodn, so maybe i've just heard the 10" version. i've definitely seen her cd in record stores around toronto. haven't looked for the 10". i can check for you next time i'm at a place that might have it?

yeah the version that's on Twist Her is horrible... full band, slick production... killed the beautiful simplicity of the song, which was perfect the way it was with just her voice and guitar....

If you do happen across it... i'll be more'n happy to reimburse/cover shipping..
