As many of you know, I've become somewhat fascinated with ghost towns. Courtsey of yshaloo I've learened of a Japanese ghost town that is an island. It grew during a coal-rush; coal was mined out of the reef and the island extended in size over the years by landfill from the mining processes. When the mines dried up, the island was deserted. Here is a website with a little textual background and some amazing photos of Gunkanjima. What's neat about it is that it was a miniature, modern city with high-rise dormitories and apartment buildings - it was fully inhabited with a peak population of 5300 until 1974.

If these kinda things tickle your fancy, check it out.

After checking that website out, I decided to look for others. You can find more photo galleries of Gunkanjima here and a really cool shockwave presentation about Gunkanjima here. (click on "normal" or "heavy" under the enhanced section depending on your bandwidth. :)

Courtsey of saraheback we learn of a certain child actress who, at least very briefly, became a porn star. You can read saraheback's amusing links between the porn industry and cast members of the sitcom Family Matters in more detail. What she doesn't provide for you, however, is a nice side-by-side comparison of Jaimee Foxworth, the child actor and Crave, the porn starlet. So, I figure, that is my duty.

Here's an early cast picture, Ms. Foxworth is the little girl in the center dressed in pink.
Awwww, cute!.

Here she is circa 2001, working in the adult film industry.
Mmmmmm, bootylicious!

I got some interesting news about a friend of mine last night, actually about two friends of mine. She is in her mid-40's and he is in his mid-20's and they are dating each other.

I told Bridget, coo-coo-joo Mrs. Robinson.

She laughed and said her daughter was calling her R Kelly.

Ha!

AH! I can't see the picture! I am sure it's everything I imagine it would be, though.

Good call on the comparison. I was thinking of doing the same, but was too tired.
