i'm ready for my close up mr demille

rocky mountain high

Location: Aurora, Colorado

I'm about 20 miles outside Denver and getting ready to make the haul up into the Rockies. I kinda wish I hadn't slept so late this morning so it could've still been daylight when I started this leg of the trip. Oh well, I should be treated to some scenery in the morning. I've got about 4 more hours of driving to do tonight then I'm going to take my break somewhere in the mountains and finish getting out sometime in the morning.

The worst is behind me though. That stretch through Kansas is boring.

I have one disc left of a twelve disc audio book of Ayn Rand's Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal. She appeals to my rational side, but sometimes I think she was just out there. I don't know much about her life, but I'm guessing she may not have had children? I may have to look that up. I still have another audio book of hers to digest as well, For The New Intellectual.

I've become quite the fan of non-fiction audio books. It keeps the mind engaged during long drives. In the past couple of months, I've also tackled Michael Moore's Hey Dude, Where's My Country? and Al Franken's Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them. I highly recommend both of those books for your Bush haters out there, especially Moore's. It's rather illuminating.
