Haven't been writing much 'cos, well there hasn't been much to write about.  In between working I've been trying to get all of this mess with the hosting situations sorted out and I'm sure you don't want to read on and on and on about that every day.  I'm not sure that I'll be thoroughly pleased with Dreamhost but I think it is going to be the best fit for me in terms of value versus amenities.  I can't stand their proprietary control panel.  Ugggh.  It drives me crazy.  And the fact that there can only be ONE ftp account that can actually access the web-space area.  But that touches on one thing I do like, however.

Shell access.

Gawd, I haven't had shell access to a Unix server since I was in college.  I'm rusty, for sure, but it's starting to come back to me.  Hell, I might even get the hankering to tangle with Emacs and    s/open up/bust out    a can o' whoop-ass of my command-line edit'n skeelz.  I owe much gratitude to bustednut who graciously downloaded and then uploaded my photo galleries between the two servers for me, since doing such a task is hard when one is as mobile as I am.

Gotta be in Wichita in the morning, then Denver by Thursday.  It is my intention to make it to Denver early enough tomorrow evening to have some coffee with spen_lit...  it's always fun meeting new LJ friends!

Lastly, behind the cut lies an interesting picture, but I caution you to take pause, fearless Livejournaler, for the sight of my hairy leg lies beneath.

So, I'm thinking about registering another domain name with the purpose of half-ass doing something with it.  And here's what I'm thinking.

You know how when something happens to you and you feel wronged and you want to tell the world about it?  Sure writing in our blogs is a good venting mechanism, but sometimes that's not enough, you know?  It has to be full-on, nasty, and worldwide.  So, I was thinking of starting a website where anyone, anytime, could host a single webpage berating whatever company, person, or entity they feel is evil.  You would be able to receive comments to the page from everyone who came along and agreed with you.  The person would be resposible for hosting their own images, but the page would be located at evilXXXXXXXXX.com/name_of_page/.  The site would be searchable and browseable, in addition to the simple link you could post in your blog.  The main page would have a "Page of the Day" sorta thing, maybe.

Right now I'm considering:

evilmotherfucker.com
evilcocksucker.com
evilfucktard.com
evilfuckweasel.com

Surprisingly, every single one of of these is currently available.  I'm kind of partial to evilfuckweasel.com 'cos right now, fuckweasel is my new favorite word and it kinda has a ring to it with evil in front of it.  Instead of the evil schemata, I'm also considering dieXXXXXXdie.com (diemotherfuckerdie, diecocksuckerdie, etc...).

So what I want to know from you folks is:

1) good idea/bad idea?
2) which name/schemata (or another you could offer) is better?
3) would I have legal concerns, even with a disclaimer of "not responsible for content" in the event of slanderous diatribes?
4) is there already some similar service like this on the intarweb that I'm not aware of?

What kind of a man desecrates a defenseless text book!?!
You are destroying your life with that... that... that garbage!
I want you to tell me... no, better yet...  stand up and tell the class.

What do you wanna DOOOOOO with your life?!?!?!
geek

maybe I won't have to get proficient at Unix after all....

Windows offers client services for Unix which are FREE!  It's a 200mb download... but, if I understand this correclty, with my shell access, I should just be able to mount my remote server as a drive and transfer stuff back and forth via Windows Explorer or make saves directly from programs to the remote server.  Awesome!

I don't know what I made this a journal entry.  I'm excited about it though. I totally need some sort of "geek" icon.

Edit To Add: That oughta do it.
