my back has been killing me all week... the ironic thing is that i didn't do it while working... i think i just slept on it funny last weekend, cos it started hurting sunday morning while i was home and has just gotten progressively worse....

my fourth was a blast (*rim shot*)... my paternal grandfather was in town from Virginia for the weekend... it was good seeing him, i know i won't have many more opportunities to... he's, sheesh, 84? and his general health has been in decline for a while now... it's strange when saying "goodbye, I love you" to someone knowing that it could very well be the last time... he spent the weekend at my folks house... me and my siblings all congregted on sunday afternoon for dinner at my parents and visited with him... the night before, i set off the dozen or so artillery rounds i had bought that week in indiana... with the 3 day weekend, i was ready to get back on the road... the quaint country life i grew up in is relaxing in small doses but after a while, my mind just goes numb....

this weekend, i'm supposed to be going to six flags with my brother and our nephew joey and our niece chelsea this aturday... daniel's ex-roomate works there and can get free tickets... hopefully my back won't be a major hinderance... i love to ride coaters but they can be tough ont he spine....

i'm so glad daniel finally found work... i know it probably is killing him to give up driving (he even admits some jealousy of me) but his priorities are much changed by becoming a ingle father... raising young children with a spouse was tough enough, i can't imagine how his life must be with a kid under a year old... gawd that kid is so cute...

northeastern indiana is a mess... the whole state is in pretty bad shape but the northeastern section seems to be in worse shape with all the flooding... the other day coming outta ft wayne, i crossed the wabash river, which was about 1/4 mile out of its banks.... the water was literally only a few feet from the underside of the bridge... everywhere you go there are mini-lakes in the middle of corn fields and entire sections of road underwater... large sections of U.S. Highway 24 is closed... i need to get some batteries for my camera and take some snapshots... it's unreal... the wind has been tough too... signs all twisted and torn... today i saw a road trailer that was parked in a field on the side of the highway, painted with an advertisement for some local business blown over on its side...

i got online from the confines of my truck for the first time the other night... flying j truck stops are nistallnig WiFi netwroks in all their plazas... it was cool... i had had a short day and hit the flying j in toledo about 4pm... i just surfed for the entire evening, chatting and working on my webpage... it was very very cool....

i'm really diggin' this jurassic 5 album... nearly as good as their first record.... "Your majesty, word class recovery, third-class, economy, blade slashed your artery. Nerve gas, then havin' me blur past dramatically, verbs hash, my words flash packed agility."
