The castle as it looked last night.....

You'd think a stone castle wouldn't be quite so flammable.

There's a huge castle near Ballarat in south-east Australia, Kryal Castle. I lived in Ballarat for a couple of years when I was a kid, and my father knew "King Keith" personally.

you'd think concrete (castle material) isn't flammable but it is!

Such a sad thing. It was beautiful.

Driving by the Castle on Versailles Road always made me smile, it was an oddity in an area full of redneck tobacco farms and elegant horse farms. I'd see people along the side of the road, visitors to the area and take pictures of it. The mysterious castle was something people would talk about at work. Everyone knew about it, but hardly anyone knew anything about it. I even remember seeing a special report on the news "The Woodford County Castle", the news tried as best it could to report information on it, they made a big deal about. "Never before seen footage of what's behind those walls" ran for a week before the newscast. It must had been a slow news week.
